Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD):
INTERNATIONAL SOCIOLOGY HONORS SOCIETY
Check out the Sociology Department's AKD website!
What is Alpha Kappa Delta?
AKD is an international honors society for undergraduates as well as graduate students, that recognizes students with outstanding academic achievements in the field of sociology. AKD students at the University of Colorado are working to organize a variety of social and/or academic events that will facilitate increased communication between undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty. Because the mission statement of AKD is "To investigate humanity for the purpose of service," students also engage in a number of service activities throughout the year. In April of each year, students attend an induction ceremony at which they receive official honors cords and certificates.
