KEY DATES

 

Prior to December 20, 2008 – You must complete and submit an application to your local American Legion Post. Your sponsoring Post will pay your sponsorship fees.

 

March 7, 2009 – The contest will be held at DeVry University at Westminster, CO.

 

CERTIFICATION

 

Certification will be conducted at your local sponsoring American Legion post and will consist of delivering your Prepared Oration and one of the Assigned Topics.  In addition to providing a coaching opportunity, the certification process guarantees that your material is of a competitive nature.  Local posts will be responsible for scheduling these certification sessions.  Certification forms will be completed and submitted to the state chairs.  (Click here for certification form)
